Gimpo FC

김포 FC(Gimpo Football Club)는 경기도 김포시를 연고로 하는 대한민국의 축구단이다.

2013년 1월 29일에 창단하였다. 2022년 K리그2로 올라와 프로팀이 되었다. 2013년 창단 이래

리그에 참여하여 대체로 상위권의 성적을 올리고 있으나, 플레이오프에 진출해서는 좋은 성적을

못내고 있다. 2020년 고정운 감독을 맞아 김원일, 김동찬 등 명망있는 선수를 영입해 우승에

도전하고 있다. 2021시즌을 앞두고 재단 출범과 함께 구단명을 김포 FC로 변경했다. 2021시즌

K3리그 우승을 달성하면서 창단 첫 우승을 달성했다. 2021년 10월, K리그2 진출을 선언했다.

이후 한국프로축구연맹에 의해 2021년 12월, K리그 이사회에서 가입이 승인되었다.

 

Gimpo FC, formerly Gimpo Citizen FC is a South Korean football club based in the city of Gimpo.

They are currently playing in the K League 2, the second tier of League football in South Korea as

professional football team.Gimpo FC founded in 2013, the first year of its foundation, the sponsor,

Goobne Chicken, provided a cup of chicken and beer for every home game, leading a large audience,

and advanced to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons in 2016 and 2017, establishing itself as a

representative force in the former K3 League. n order to meet the standards for incorporation of the

newly reorganized K3 League in 2020, the city of Gimpo, which is promoting the provisional name

“Gimpo FC Foundation Establishment Project” on March 23 of the same year, was attended by Gimpo

Mayor Jeong Ha-young, Deputy Mayor, National-Secretary Manager, and 15 soccer officials. An interim

report on the feasibility study of incorporation was held. In august of the same year, the city of Gimpo

publicly recruited the first executives of the corporation. The launch is scheduled for January 2021. Two

months later, on October 20, it was announced that a general meeting of promoters and a founding

board were held in the communication room of Gimpo city hall for the establishment of Gimpo FC.
In 2021, Gimpo Stadium was closed due to redevelopment, the anatomical emitter Gimpo Salter soccer

field, when the stadium was moved there with rebuild stadium, the management rights of the stadium

were transferred along with the incorporation. For reference, the Gimpo Salter Soccer Field was completed

in January 2021 with a natural turf soccer field and 1,024 seats. In addition, as the "Gimpo FC" foundation

was established on January 1, 2021, the team name was also changed from Gimpo Citizen FC to Gimpo FC.

The club participated in the semi-professional league in K3 League until 2021 is the last of semi-professional

league. The club became a professional club and got an approval to join as a member of K League 2 from

the 2022 season on December 7, 2021.
